Description

Falling for the enemy has never been so deliciously complicated in this standalone romance where a sexy single dad meets his unexpected match! Get ready for all the feels!

Never have I ever been so infuriated by a man I wanted to kiss.
They say opposites attract, but I beg to differ. Combust is more like it. Because every single time I talk to Zach Nolan, I see red.
The too-good-looking, too-smart, too-effortlessly charming single dad who works down the hall from me has turned getting under my skin into a sport. Call it the battle of wits between the wedding planner and the divorce attorney.
Trouble is, when we’re forced into closer quarters planning an engagement party for our best friends, I start to see his other sides.
And I fear I’m falling for the enemy.
***
I’m not out to make friends. My goals are simple -- fight till the end for my clients, and my family.
The last thing I need is a vibrant, outgoing, snarky, and surprisingly big-hearted wedding planner to spend my precious free time with…except, watching Piper bond with my daughter just might break down the cinder block walls I’ve built around my heart these last few years.
Second chances don’t come around for guys like me…or do they?

*NEVER HAVE I EVER is a standalone in the Always Satisfied series of standalones*

ARC received for an honest review. This book sucked you in and kept you wanting for more. Zach and Piper were more frenemies then anything else. It’s the couple you don’t expect to get together. I found how they found their way together to be refreshing. They have known each other for years so it wasn’t a “I met you last week and now I’m utterly in love.” I also loved that you read both male and female POV vs your regular female POV. I enjoin getting to read the mans POV in books but it’s typically one or the other. Lauren also brings in literature in this book. Who doesn’t love the smell of an old book?! I highly recommend this read!

Overall 5 stars Performance 5 stars* Story 4.5 stars This was such a fantastic listen! Never Have I Ever was such a great blend of funny, sexy, and heartfelt moments. It has all the classic Lauren Blakely romcom laughs, but it also has some very tender and emotional scenes too. This story has a little bit of everything, from enemies to lovers, to single parent, to forced proximity. I loved Zach and Piper! Their playful back and forth heightened the sexual tension between them so deliciously. Truthfully, I wouldn't have minded if they stayed in the enemies/frenemies zone longer! Events in their pasts have left them feeling vulnerable and guarded, but as they each open themselves up to possibility, those defenses drop and it really is beautiful. I appreciated so much that our characters were mature adults who (for the most part) spoke openly and honestly about what they wanted and desired. They don't play games and there isn't a whole lot of angst or unnecessary drama. Zach is always a father first, and I loved that the happiness of his children was always his top priority. His relationship with Henry and Lucy was so sweet, especially his bond with Lucy. Girl Power! The scene between Lucy, Zach, and Piper at the end warmed my heart so much and was beyond perfect. I'm not usually the biggest fan of the deceased spouse trope, but Blakely handled it so realistically and beautifully that I couldn't not root for Piper and Zach. Jason Clarke and Amanda Ronconi were amazing! I was so impressed by their versatility and ability to convey so much emotion in their performances. This is my first time hearing Amanda Ronconi, but what a treat it was! This audiobook couldn't have been more perfectly cast! I think my only minor issue with the audio overall is that there seemed to be some static or fuzziness when both narrators spoke loudly or emphatically. Almost like they were too close to the microphone? I'm not sure what caused it, but it made their words not as clear. It didn't detract from the story, but was something that I noticed. Never Have I Ever felt a little more serious than some of Lauren Blakely's lighter romcoms, but it's definitely worth the credit! You don't want to miss this heartwarming love story! Update 10/4/19 Reread the ebook and fell in love with Zach and Piper all over again! It was just as emotional and heartwarming as it was the first time. If you get a chance to listen to the audiobook though, I definitely recommend it!

I love this one. Never Have I Ever is a sexy, heartfelt, frenemies to lovers featuring a dreamy single dad divorce lawyer and a kindhearted and determined wedding planner. I am obsessed with these characters. Piper and Zach have insane chemistry in and out of the bedroom. The energy that surrounds them when they were in the midst of their verbal spars was electrified. All the bickering led to the most delicious tension. Because they shared an office building, the close proximity just added to the deliciousness. (Oh how I love a good verbal sparring. Lauren Blakely is a master at the playful back and forth.) Zach with his kids was just all kinds of swoon worthy. Their rapport felt so natural and caring. His kids are so well adjusted after the passing of their mother. His relationship with his daughter, Lucy, is probably favorite thing in this story. He treated her with so much love and respect. It's so dang sweet. Piper also had a special connection to his kids. She was so good with them. I adored all the "girl-power" independent woman she passed on to Lucy. Never Have I Ever is easily one of my favorite stories this year. Lauren Blakely shines once again with her sexy, sassy banter, the undeniable character chemistry and the smooth and effortless ways of her words. If you love single parent romances, enemies to lovers, and/or a tender heartfelt love story, then you need this book in your life.

A definite favorite read by Lauren Blakely. A frenimes to lovers storyline with a seriously sexy single dad. The chemistry and banter between Zach and Piper is sizzling hot and swoony. I absolutely loved the supporting characters, almost as much as the main characters and Lucy absolutely stole the show. This read will put you through all the feels. I highly recommend this book.

I adored this book!!!!! Not only did I have the pleasure of reading it but my ears also had the pleasure of listening to it. This is an incredibly charming, funny and sweet story and I can say that the narration only adds copious amounts of goodness to the story. Amanda and Jason rocked it so hard as Piper & Zach!! This opposites attract frenemies to lovers story is simply everything! In my opinion Ms. Blakely can do no wrong in this RomCom genre!!! These two characters are absolutely fantastic and so darn lovable! Zach is a divorce attorney and Piper is a wedding planner, is there anything more opposite than that? Zach is also a widower and single dad. OMG I love his children so much!! And it’s so swoonworthy and sexy how much he loves them!! I love every little thing from beginning to end about this book from the humor to the heat and all the other emotions it made me feel in between. Absolute Rom Com Perfection!!

Never have I ever loved an enemies to lovers book more than this one!! I think this may be one of my favorite Lauren Blakely books. This is book 3 in the Always Satisfied series. Reading this I pretty much kept a smile on my face and warmth in my heart. This book is funny, sweet, steamy and delicious. Watching Zach with his kids made my heart warm and fuzzy. They are absolutely precious. This “shark” of a divorce attorney will surprise you. Piper is the sweetest, most giving person ever. She’s a top notch wedding planner, loyal and giving sister and friend. What starts out as oil and water, unable to mix, soon shifts to be more like a library and books! You will definitely be satisfied when you finish this book!

Lauren never ceases to amaze me with her words. Having so many books, she still delivers fresh and interesting stories! Each new character with their own traits, habits and jobs...never repeating. Like for instance... Piper is a wedding Planner that loves to play mini golf, and is apparently a shard at it. Lol. Zach is a divorce attorney who everyone coincidentally calls a shark. Lol! Two very opposite people with literally the opposite jobs are thrown together and you get one heck of a great enemies to Lovers story! Throw in that Zach is a single dad and bam! It just got that much hotter!! I loved the natural development between these characters. They each have a past and makes it hard for them to move on so it seems. They’ve known each other since college but never really got along until recently, until they started sharing an office building and Zach’s daughter starting hanging out in Pipers office when she’s there. They relations just naturally progresses, nothing is forced and it makes the flow of the story perfect! ***When you open your whole damaged heart that’s not so broken anymore—in fact, it’s not broken at all, and it’s definitely not made of iron or of ice—the only thing to do is kiss. I love seeing other characters as well. Jason, Sloane and Malone to name a few. They make appearances but they never take over the story! And I wonder if Miss Blakely is a fan of Charmed or if Piper and Paige (who are sisters) were named out of the blue. Being a huge Charmed fan, I hope it’s the former. Lol! I love those names and I loved this story!!

Lauren Blakely brings another comically wonderful romance to our bookshelves. Piper is a wedding planner. So, when the cocky and arrogant divorce attorney from college is at a wedding she has planned and is betting against her bride/groom couple.... she remembers why she never liked him. Zach is known as a shark when it comes to his career. A successful divorce attorney. But after losing his wife he’s not ready to get out there and start dating again. He’s devoted to his children, his family, friends and job. What more could he need? But, one night as they are waiting to meet up with their circle of friends, hurling banter back and forth, a new light is shown about each of these two characters. And neither one of them is sure if they can pass the hurdles of their past. Can the wedding planner and the divorce shark have a shot at future? Never have they ever....

Ms. Blakely's brilliance strikes again! Never Have I Ever is a delightfully fun and sexy enemies-to-lovers rom-com that checks all of the boxes. It'll make you laugh and it'll make you swoon as you fall head over heels for Zach and Piper. This is a complete standalone story but a few of Blakely's prior characters pop up which is always a treat! But no prior reading experience is necessary so dive on in and enjoy this story! Zach....oh how I loved him! I had a completely different opinion of him at the start and end of the story. He wasn't what I initially thought he was and that's something I loved! He's sexy, smart and witty and his relationship with his kids is enough to make your heart melt. I swooned hard during those scenes! And his kids? Oh my word, Lucy and Henry were beyond adorable! I just loved them!!!! Then there's Piper....she is the perfect heroine! Fun, energetic, snarky and successful, she's the perfect adversary for Zach. These two ooze chemistry! Their romance is scorching hot and sexy! I just loved them together! Blakely delivers the perfect rom-com full of entertainment and heat. I love a good enemies-to-lovers romance and this one fit the bill in every way. You'll laugh and you'll swoon and you'll fall head over heels in love. This one's a must-read! 5 stars
